About Lisa Lewis

So, have you heard about this Lisa Lewis?

Lisa has enjoyed polishing her writing all of her life.  She has written poetry, short stories, essays, reports, and has given flash fiction a whirl. (Note: flash fiction is a short, short story, typically 1000 words or less)  In high school, her creative writing teacher used to give her the fishy eyeball glare and declare,"This is not high school writing.  Are you sure you wrote this by yourself?"

A native of Washington state, Lisa is a member of a large, active family. She and her husband, Jeff, have 4 children, a behemoth dog, a finicky feline, a confection-inspired guinea pig and a Spanish beta fish.  In addition to writing, Lisa enjoys the outdoors, is active in Scouts and has a passion for flowers and herbs.  Oh, and her home is usually filled with music.

Why be a freelance writer?

"To me, freelance writing gives me a chance to constantly change hats,"  states Lisa.  "I have the privilege of being flexible with my schedule.  Every day will be something new.  To me, freelance writing is the chance to add to my education on a continual basis.  Each assignment adds another layer to my knowledge base."

Current Project:  Lisa is working on her novel.  Based on her research of CODAs, (children of deaf adults), she is writing a novel about a boy who lived in the Deaf culture with his mother, and what happens when he is thrust into the hearing culture, at the expense of his Deaf roots.
